Become a Keymaker in your own psyche, like in the Matrix II & III movies

One of the pleasures of the metaphors of the Matrix movies was the oriental Keymaker. It’s his talent and task to craft keys to unlock doors that have never been opened before.

In real life, in self-healing work, opening doors that have never been opened before, can feel disorienting and surreal, as pictured in the Matrix movies. For some people encountering their first prior existence will be a door they have never walked thru before. For others, it may be that some of their issues track back to the period between conception and birth (harder to get to than to many past lives).

Our experience of the surreal encountering these is mostly a function of how narrow our conventional education system is; “There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamed of in your philosophy” or in the minds of school teachers.

Maybe you were taught “tools” and “keys” are never metaphors and can only be material and physical. Maybe you were taught to discount HONESTY and COMPASSION as legitimate tools that solve conflicts. If you learned FORGIVENESS is NOT a tool for resolving disturbances; then, surely your education was too narrow. These natural human capacities are some of the greatest tools in our Healing Toolbox.

Once a tool like integrity works for you—you are likely to grasp how any truly human value can be used as a tool for your upliftment, learning and growth.

Further, like the little oriental Keymaker in Matrix II & III, in consciousness, you can make up new tools as you need them.

Students tell us all the time that at first blush Slow-Motion Forgiveness(TM) feels surreal to them. Once they EXPERIENCE it working and moving energy inside them, they start to think about “tools” that “move energy.” If it moves energy for someone, it’s a useful tool.

Q: Will the same keys work for everyone?

A: Heavens, no. that’s why the Keymaker in the Matrix movies has so many keys and has to slow down and do the work of trying many keys to unlock one lock. He does not have to know evertyhing—he just has to try enuf keys until either one works or he gets an idea how to make one that will work.

Keymakers improvise new solutions

When a Keymaker find he or she is the first to tackle a new problem, they estimate the situation. “Can I go backwards?” “Can I stay where I am now?” if the answer to both of these is “No,” then they have to go forward and doing whatever it takes to approximate a working key, a working solution, will be necessary.

“Improvization” belongs at the top of Bruner’s hierarchy of thinking skills, not “synthesis” Improvization is what you express after you have synthesized.

The Keymaker’s power is not a super-power, not even in Matrix movies. Even th best Keymaker—and perhaps all the very best Keymakers—ask for spiritual assistance on their tough jobs and ask God to be their Partner in their tough assignments.
