Strong women & sensitive new age men explained in Three Selves terms
Confusion exists over what it means when a male body has a yin basic self (classic sensitive new age male);
and, what it means when a woman has a strong yang basic self (strong woman in many expressions).
The three selves makes the phenomena of “strong women” and “soft new age men” easier to discuss.
If a soul in a female body has a strongly yang basic self, she will have physical endurance and vitality beyond that of a female body with a more yin basic self.
If a male has a strongly yin basic self, he will have more sensitivity than a male with a more yang basic self.
This begins to suggest the kind of mix and match combinations possible here.
The number of basic selves we have assigned to us for any one Earthly journey is a kind of energy architecture (Maryann Castellanos) that does not change over one life (Maryann Castellanos).
The possibility exists that two or more basic selves are assigned to a soul for a specific Earth embodiment. I estimate about one in 200 people has two basic selves. Three or more is possible. I estimate only one person in two thousand or more has this architecture.
Q: Isn’t more basic selves better? Where can I get another basic self?
A: I used to think this way too. Later I learned having two basic selves is twice as much work as having one basic self. How are you doing right now with the one you have? That’s our focus. No one need feel envious of anyone else. The basic self(s) you have now were custom picked for you to complete the things you agreed to complete in this life. Why not complete those things first?
Q: I want to change from a male basic to a female basic or vice versa. how do I do it?
A: Before any new embodiment, the soul appears to consider which gender role it is WEAKER in. If it needs more practice in the masculine role of taking initiative and being visible, it will sign up for a male body. If it needs more practice in receptivity, connecting and collaborating with others, it will sign up for a female body. My guess is Soul is always trying to balance itself.
Which is better, male or female? Balance. We are all trying to become more balanced in our capacity to hold a balance of yin and yang charges.
Bertrand Babinet on gender and the basic self
Bertrand Babinet tells the story of being asked by a pregnant woman, “Is my baby going to be a boy or a girl?” Bertrand replied this is not a very meaningful question. A much better question is whether the child will be more yin or more yang in its basic self expression. He says the predominance of yin or yang in an unborn child is easier to determine from the outside than the sex of the baby’s physical body.
He says, the preponderance of yin or yang in the body as a whole tells us whether the basic self is more yin or yang. If the body is more polarized towards yang, we can say the b/s is more familiar with masculine, yang, expressions—whether the gender of the physical body is male or female.
The converse is also true: If the body is more polarized towards yin, we say the b/s is more familiar with feminine, yin, expressions—whether the gender of the physical body is male or female.
Complicating matters is the soul is always trending towards balance, always trying to “sandpaper off” “sharp” or “jagged corners,” of its habits and expressions, bringing itself more into One Whole, which we can picture as roundness.
Further discussion here takes us beyond generalizations into individual case studies.
